A new book, The Story of Hogsback, was launched on Friday 17 June 2009 at the Hogsback Inn, Hogsback. In his book Trevor Webster has written a short, popular history of Hogsback, with over 70 photographs.

HIV Hope Project

Dr Norma van NiekerkIn 2006, while the dual epidemic of HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis was raging in the Eastern Cape (as in the rest of SA) the supply of ARVs in this area was non-existent. Local medical doctor, Dr Norma van Niekerk, decided to do something about it.

Through a team effort, the HIV Hope Project was registered as a Non‑Profit Organisation (NPO). It started with 3 patients on ARVs, kindly sponsored by their employees. Today, three years down the line, we have almost 50 patients registered on the program and on ARVs.
